MOVE.

We all know keeping fit is important at any age, but it’s crucial not to underestimate the importance of exercise as we age.  It’s not only essential in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but it can also literally add years to your life and who doesn’t want to live for longer!

We have both led active lives, but we are realising that what worked for us in our 20s and 30s might not be right for our bodies today.  We have researched how our bodies are changing and have adapted our exercise routines to respond to these changes, which include a loss of muscle mass and issues with flexibility and mobility. It’s exciting to try new exercises and discover new passions like walking and gardening. We are looking forward to exploring and learning how we can optimise our physical health in new and exciting ways.  It’s also important to remember that moving more not only benefits you physically, but also keeps your mind sharp and your mood up. Regular exercise not only improves cognitive function, but certainly has a huge impact on our mental health.

Don’t worry if you don’t think you’re fit right now. It’s never too late to start moving. In this section we will share our top tips and advice for getting fitter as you get older, whether you are a complete beginner or simply looking for a new fitness challenge.
